# M3-CRETE > Open-source concrete 3D printer for sub-1m³ builds on a standard US pallet. Cartesian dual-Y belt-pinion architecture with quad-Z self-tramming. Companion hardware to the CEMFORGE AI mix-formulation platform. Maintained by Sunnyday Technologies LLC, Appleton WI. This file is a high-density, plain-text summary intended for LLM retrieval and RAG indexing. Authoritative source is the GitHub repository and the JSON BOM linked below. ## Identity - Project name: M3-CRETE (Mobile, Modular, Meter³) - Live site: https://m3-crete.com - Repository: https://github.com/sunnyday-technologies/M3-CRETE - License: CERN-OHL-W-2.0 (CAD/Components/ subdirectory: CC BY-SA 4.0) - Maintainer: Sunnyday Technologies LLC (https://sunn3d.com) - Contact: m3@sunn3d.com ## Models - M3-1 — 1000 × 1000 × 1000 mm build volume; no axis splice; all single-piece extrusions. - M3-2 — 2000 × 1000 × 1000 mm build volume; X-axis spliced. Default build target. - M3-4 — 2000 × 2000 × 1000 mm build volume; both X and Y spliced. Variant parameters (quantity overrides) are defined in https://m3-crete.com/config.js under MODEL_VARIANTS. ## Architecture (M3-2 default) - Frame: 4080 C-Beam primary structure (Z-posts, Y-gantry rails) plus 2040 bracing. All 1000 mm standard lengths. C opening points inward toward the cube. - X-axis: 2× 1000 mm 4080 spliced = 2000 mm envelope. Splice uses straight-line slot-linking kit with internal 2040 reinforcement bonded inside the C-channel. - Y-axis: 2× parallel 2080 rails, 1000 mm span, dual motors (anti-racking). - Z-axis: 4× independent belt-driven 2040 vertical posts (quad self-tramming via Klipper Z_TILT_ADJUST). - Motion: GT2 10 mm belt + polycarbonate V-wheels on all axes. - Motors: 7× NEMA23 8 mm shaft (1× X + 2× Y + 4× Z) + 1× extruder (NEMA34, owner-supplied). - Controller: BTT Kraken (8× TMC5160 onboard) + Raspberry Pi 5 + Klipper. - Homing: StallGuard4 sensorless via TMC5160 (no mechanical limit switches). - Printhead target: 1.5 kg, 1″ Male NPT pipe connection, counter-weighted hose. - Target system cost: under USD 5,000. ## Out of scope (do not add) - Mechanical limit switches / endstops — replaced by StallGuard4. - Mechanical leveling feet — handled by build-plate probing instead. - External reinforcement on X-gantry beam — would interfere with the 2-sided X-carriage wheel path. - HEPA filter, carbon-fiber bars, LED lights. - Pump system — separate proprietary product (NemoCrete), not part of M3-CRETE. ## Bill of Materials - Source of truth: https://m3-crete.com/bom/data.json (JSON; ~66 parts, ~216 supplier options, ~37 suppliers). - Interactive viewer: https://m3-crete.com/bom/ - Viewer features: multi-supplier selection, coverage tracking, per-part quantity adjusters, "I have this" exclusion, Buy/Print/CNC toggle on fabricated parts, CSV/JSON export, model-variant selector (M3-1 / M3-2 / M3-4). ## Companion projects - CEMFORGE — AI-driven 3D-printable concrete mix formulation platform: https://cemforge.ai - Open3DCP — open printability dataset and schema for 3D concrete printing: https://open3dcp.org ## Machine-readable surface - Sitemap: https://m3-crete.com/sitemap.xml - robots.txt: https://m3-crete.com/robots.txt (explicitly allows ClaudeBot, GPTBot, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot) - MCP manifest (experimental): https://m3-crete.com/.well-known/mcp-manifest.json - Product JSON-LD: embedded in https://m3-crete.com/ inside a `
